Melting Pot Restaurants, The

The Melting Pot is the nations leading fondue restaurant chain. Guests can choose from four tasty fondue cooking styles and a variety of entrees, including beef, chicken, duck, shrimp, scallops, lobster and more. A special dipping sauce accompanies each dish. The Melting Pot restaurants use only the finest quality cheeses, which have been carefully aged to meet Melting Pot standards. Servers season the fondue to customers personal preferences. Desserts include a variety of decadent chocolate fondue recipes.

The Melting Pot offers a completely unique dining experience that has been a proven success since 1975. A convenient advantage is that it does not require any chefs, ovens or fryers. Conveniently for the owner, the restaurant is only open for dinner and there is little, if any, direct competition within its niche market. As The Melting Pot now opens 15-17 new locations every year, it is the perfect time for people to try to dip into something different.

Investment Required
The fee for a The Melting Pot franchise is $35,000.

The Melting Pot provides the following range of investments required to open your initial franchise. The range assumes that all items are paid for in cash. To the extent that you choose to finance any of these expense items, your front-end investment could be substantially reduced.

On-Going Expenses
The Melting Pot franchisees pay a royalty fee equal to 4.5% of monthly gross revenue, a central advertising fund fee equal to up to 1.5% of gross revenue (a maximum of $22,500 per year), and a local advertising fee equal to 3% of gross revenue.

What You GetTraining and Support
With the extensive training and support that the Melting Pot provides, franchisees are not required to have any restaurant experience.

The Melting Pot Franchise Support Center has a development team with professionals who specialize in site selection, food service and interior design. The design of each Melting Pot restaurant is customized by the design team to reflect the franchisees personality and the surrounding local neighborhood. A complete set of design drawings is provided for layout, equipment specifications, interior-design details and finish selections.

Franchisees complete a 7-week training program that covers all operations, including equipment orders, from the kitchen to the dining room to the bar. A team of trainers assists with grand openings, as well as supplying ongoing assistance with daily training tips and other support.

The Melting Pot has an innovative program called Training Champions, where each restaurant selects a representative who monitors the training of new employees and ensures consistency. These Training Champions earn national certification in food safety and handling techniques and receive daily updates and insights through online training.

Territory
The Melting Pot grants exclusive territories.
