New Horizons utilizes a unique approach with its eLearning environment, which involves using Web-based training to enhance the classroom experience. Through eLearning, content is delivered more efficiently and additional information and services such as skill assessments and a 24-hour help desk are also available � and fit any schedule or budget.
Investment Required The fee for a New Horizons franchise depends on the number of personal computers in the franchisee�s territory: For a territory encompassing 500,000 computers or more, the start-up fee is $75,000; for a territory with 250,000 to 499,999, the fee is $60,000; for a territory with 100,000 to 249,999, $40,000; and a territory with less than 100,000 computers, $20,000.
New Horizons provides the following range of investments required to open your initial franchise. The range assumes that all items are paid for in cash. To the extent that you choose to finance any of these expense items, your front-end investment could be substantially reduced.
On-Going Expenses New Horizons franchisees pay a royalty fee equal to the greater of 6% of monthly gross revenue or a minimum of between $1,000 and $1,500 depending of the size of the franchisee�s territory, and a marketing and advertising fee equal to 1% of gross revenue. Other ongoing costs include a fee for providing online classes.
What You Get�Training and Support The New Horizons business model, programs, products and services are designed to minimize cost and maximize revenue. The New Horizons library of printed and e-learning courseware includes more than 1,000 titles from a many prominent vendors, much of which is available free or at deep discounts. Other technology resources include the Integrated Learning Manager, a Web-based portal for building management techniques, and other software.
Training is provided for franchisees and their employees at the New Horizons University. New owners and managers cut their teeth in an intensive two-week training program, but New Horizons also provides ongoing training events at corporate headquarters as well as around the world. All staffing levels also have access to additional training at regional conferences and an annual international conference, and through live e-learning events and self-paced e-learning resources. Regional managers, corporate sales managers, product managers, marketing professionals and technical support personnel are also available for on-site and regional assistance.
