system that delivered $2 billion system wide in gross room reservations in 2008. Investment
Required
The minimum fee for a Choice Hotels franchise ranges from $10,000
to $60,000, depending on the brand, with additional per room fees for excess
rooms. Choice Hotels offers financing for up to half of the franchisee fee for
qualifying franchisees and offers financing as part of incentive programs for
minorities. Choice Hotels provides the following range of investments required to open your initial franchise. The range assumes that all items are paid for in cash. To the extent that you choose to finance any of these expense items, your front-end investment could be substantially reduced. On-going
Expenses
Choice Hotels franchisees pay royalty fees ranging from 4-5.65% of
monthly gross room rates, except for Rodeway Inn® franchisees, who
pay a flat royalty rate of $31 per room with a $20,000 annual minimum. The franchisee also pays a system fee ranging
from 2.5-4% of monthly gross room rates ($19 per room, $15,000 annual minimum
for Rodeway Inn®) and most concepts pay an annual marketing
co-operative fee ranging from $400 - $2,400.
Other fees payable by the franchisee include travel agent and affiliate
program commissions, monthly technology services and data communications fees
and various annual meeting and convention fees. What You
Get—Training and Support Field support is available, with local field service staff
available to help franchisees through every step of design and construction,
opening and training. After the hotel is
open, a franchise services staff will provide support in the areas of
operations, sales and marketing and inventory.
Other ongoing support includes a centralized help desk, industry-leading
property management systems, access to an extensive company intranet of
resources, full-service purchasing assistance and ongoing meetings, training
events and seminars. Territory

Hotels grants exclusive territories for Ascend Collection® Hotels, and grants exclusive territories
under limited circumstances only for all other brands. |
