Ongoing Expenses
Welcomemat franchisees pay monthly royalty fees equal to the greater of 6% of gross sales or a minimum monthly royalty payment ranging from $180-$460 depending on the year of operation. Franchisees also contribute the greater of 2% of gross sales or the minimum fund contribution ranging from $60-$180 to a system-wide marketing fund. Other ongoing expenses include a local advertising fee of up to 2% of gross sales, a technology services fee of $99 per month and a bookkeeping services fee of $225 per month.
What You Get—Training and Support
Welcomemat Services provides extensive training and support to ensure that franchisees have the tools they need to succeed in their Welcomemat business. Prior to opening, Welcomemat defines the franchisee’s protected region and assists in site selection. Welcomemat also provides a list of items and equipment necessary for opening and operating a Welcomemat business as well as a list of approved suppliers for these items. Franchisees must attend an initial training course that includes classroom and on-site instruction and covers customer service, administration, prospecting, loyalty marketing, sales processes and techniques, and back office support.
Once a franchisee has opened their franchised business, Welcomemat continues to support the franchisee with a number of services. Welcomemate provides artwork design and setup, production, invoicing and technology services, and maintains a centralized telephone system for the benefit of franchisees. Franchisees receive ongoing consultation and advice regarding management and operation of the Welcomemat business, and, at the request of the franchisee, Welcomemat offers additional on-site training and consultation. Furthermore, Welcomemat administers a system-wide marketing fund and is committed to developing additional products and services to be offered and marketed by franchisees.
Territory
Welcomemat grants protected territories in regions estimated to have approximately 24,000 new movers during the initial 12 months of franchise operation.
